Caesar Guerini – Ellipse EVO
The Caesar Guerini Ellipse EVO represents the next generation of upland hunting gun. Fast as a grouse’s wing tip and sleek as a pheasant’s tail feather, it features a graceful rounded action and a streamlined stock that make it handle, feel, and look like the world’s finest handmade round-body shotguns. Every detail has been carefully considered, from engraving that accentuates the curve of the action to the shape of the trigger. This is not a quick makeover of an existing model; the barrels, action, and stock are all new. The Ellipse EVO is the evolution of the fine over-and-under hunting gun.
Field & Stream named the Ellipse 2010 Best of the Best, praising its graceful round-bodied receiver, elegant acanthus-leaf engraving on a background of rosettes, and richly figured walnut with a gloss-oil finish shaped in a Prince of Wales grip. Testers found it easy to carry and shoot, and it functioned flawlessly through many rounds of skeet. It comes in a fitted case with five choke tubes.
Features include a hand-polished coin finish protected by an Invisalloy protective finish, a hand-rubbed oil stock, a wood butt plate, and 26 lines-per-inch checkering. It is supplied with five nickel-plated flush-fitting chokes and a brass front bead sight. The gun has a rounded fore-end and a single non-selective trigger, with a selective trigger available as an option. A plastic hard case with a fitted interior and combination locks is included, and the barrels feature an 8 to 6 mm tapered solid rib.
